What is Push Email?

Push Email technology involves having a persistent Internet connection on your portable device. The email server then finds the device and sends or "pushes" the email to the device as soon as it arrives on the Exchange server.

If you're using a Windows Mobile phone or a Blackberry, you are already able to "push" Exchange e-mails, calendars and contacts to your device in real time.

What is ActiveSync?

ActiveSync is a server-side technology that allows a portable device, such as a PDA, to download email while updating the Exchange server with any contacts, notes or emails you may have written on the PDA. It does not use "push" technology in the sense that it polls the Exchange server over https (i.e. the device still has to find the server), and only does so at specified intervals.

BlackBerry Sync

The Hosted BlackBerry service allows businesses of all sizes to benefit from the wireless synchronization that provides the BlackBerry Enterprise Server without having to invest large sums of money for the purchase of the server hardware, the software and the ongoing IT support costs that are involved when managing the BlackBerry Enterprise Server internally.

Priced at only $9.95/month per user, this new service requires less know-how and less time and is therefore an ideal solution for enterprises that want to get more from their budget and resources.

BlackBerry Hosting features:

  • Full Outlook/Exchange integration. Synchronize wirelessly your Outlook e-mails, calendar, notes, tasks and contacts with your BlackBerry.
  • Instant activation. BlackBerry hosting can be added as an option to your Exchange account in just a few minutes.
  • Pay only a small monthly fee per user.
  • Encrypted technology that will secure all your information.
  • Increased efficiency and productivity.

Instant, Easy Set-Up

Wireless Enterprise Activation is easy as 123. Upon the purchase of the BlackBerry Sync Option for Hosted Exchange with SherWeb, you will receive an Activation Password for your device. Once you enter the password, the connection is established between your device and our BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Exchange. That's it! It's a one step configuration.
